From 5 to 9 September 2018, Gaudeamus bursts straight through genres and labels with a festival programme packed with new concert experiences for contemporary music lovers.
Ticket sale for all concerts has started now. From the unique open air opening concert at the Vredenburgkade by the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group to the final concert with Stargaze playing work by Nicole Lizée and an ode to The Beach Boys‘ SMiLE by Aart Strootman and Morris Kliphuis.
Also in the festival: the commissioned work by 2016 Gaudeamus Award winner Anthony Vine by Bozzini Quartet, the rarely performed Terry Riley piece Shri Camel by Temko, a lecture by the German composer Moritz Eggert, a workshop on modular synthesizers in Kytopia, sound art expo Senses Working Overtime and the eclectic and packed Saturday Night including Kara-Lis Coverdale, Coby Sey, Silbersee and music of The Cardiacs by BarmyFiveseveN.
